This script will let the user choose a new game, and turn the character's existence and controls back on. Next, double-click ' Activated' in the upper right. You can also change shadow color if you're feeling fancy. You can also click on each element's right square to change the bottom color of the text.
Do this by clicking on the element's left color square each time. Go to the right side of the screen and make sure that the Normal, Selected and Unselected colors are all different. Click on the ' Selectable' checkbox under ' Initial Text'. Under the ' Features' menu, the ' Intial Text' area will say 'Field'.Ĭhange this to say 'New Game'. Now we will add three working buttons.Ĭlick on the screen where you want your first button. Your 'Title' Effect was the background and it is called ' 0' on the left if you need to get back to it later.
You might need to adjust the sliders on the left and bottom to center the screen, but your image should be in the exact middle of the field. This will take you back to the interface grid screen and you should see your picture centered. Again, mine was called 'Title' but yours may be different. Your newest Effect should be the very last one. Then go to the drop-down menu that says ' Effect:'. If you want to play with the positioning later you can do so, but this guide is just for making a title screen quickly. Change it to ' Static Effect'.Ĭhoose ' Horizontal Alignment: Center' and ' Vertical Alignment: Middle' for quick centering. At the top of the middle column, you will see a drop-down menu called ' Behavior'. Click the exact center of the screen when your cursor is completely centered. It should open up and your cursor should turn into a green square on a black area. Left click on the Title Screen interface that is listed in the Interfaces folder. Go to File in the upper left and then click ' Save Effects'. Click OK when your image appears on the menu screen. If you don't understand this, you can ignore this part for now. This will help keep your image from looking squished. Make sure the image's height and width are powers of 2 before uploading (64, 128, 256, 512, or 1024). Navigate to the image you want to upload. This will take you to a folder on your computer. In the new screen that pops up, left click on the blank square next to ' Source Image' in the upper left. Next to ' Change Amount', click on the blank square. You can do this by changing the Display Name up top. Call the new Effect 'Title' or something else you can remember. Click on the document icon that is above the broken document. Click the Effects icon in the Resources folder. A Title-screen Menu is similar to the an-game Pause menu, only it's displayed in a specific scene, and invites the Player to click 'New game' before continuing. Click on the Maps folder - >Create Map and call it 'The Title' (or whatever you like).
Click on the Interfaces folder - >Choose Create Interface and call it 'Title Screen' (or whatever you like). I have highlighted the menu elements to select to make it easier to understand. I kept it near the minimum number of steps you will need, so that if you're an Engine001 beginner you can skip the optionals and get right to a working title. This is a tutorial I put together to build a title screen from start to finish.
